找工作没有竞争力。现在正好有了一个转到统计专业的机会，大家说要不要转啊？听说
生统工作很好找的，我在Monster上搜索了发现确实工作机会很多。不知道统计的工作
是不是比生统好找，如果不是，我觉得就没有必要转了。诚心请大家给点建议。 |

to stat. All master programs are very shallow in the US. I think we can
study by ourselves. |

semester), linear model, and nonparametric theory, stochastic proceses from
the stat department and see if you can handle it.
I do believe a stat Ph.D has more potential than a biostat Ph.D. But if you
only want a master degree, biostat might be easier to find jobs. |

是掌握比较基础的统计，然后强调生统中比较常用的方法比如linear model,survival
analysis, 然后训练一下SAS和R. 基本不会很系统的学什么Math.stat. Probability
theory 和 stochastic proceses。总之，如果只想找份工作，生统学的东西到底够用

Biostat和Stat的PhD课程差不多，主干课程都是一起上。
只不过Biostat在研究里更倾向于生物和医学

发帖数: 1504 | 10 如果本科是生物学背景的，转统计学深点，回头来做生物统计。如果不是生物学背景的
，那就呆在生物统计里。
反正随着大规模测序等技术的发展，我非常看好生物统计。

You need strong math stat background to read papers. And you need knowledge
in stochastic process to understand surival analysis. Modern theory for
survival analysis is established based on counting measures(a stohastic
process). |

RELATED DEGREE。。。转来转去很好玩啊？ |
