it still require a placebo group, thus has three groups?
so in sample size calculation, to show the new drug has efficacy, we compare
the placebo and new drug groups, and we get a sample size;
to determine the equivalence, we compare the new drug and know drug groups,
and we calculate another sample size.
then the total sample size is adding these two together? is this correct?
