Healthcare Data Consultant - Seeking SAS Enterprise Guide Exp
Description:
The Healthcare Data Consultant is part of the United Pay Integrity Division
within OptumInsight in the Advanced Analytics Lab. The purpose of the
Healthcare Data Consultant is to analyze data and develop algorithms and
tools that detect overpayments for UnitedHealthcareas Commercial, Medicare,
and Medicaid insurance businesses. This position is required to have strong
data analysis, relational database, and SAS experience. The position will
work with cutting edge technology and work within a structured development
environment. The technology suite currently leveraged is SAS Web Report
Studio, SAS Enterprise Guide, SAS Stored Processes, Tableau, SQL, Oracle,
UNIX, Teradata and Netezza. We need a self-starter who can work in a virtual
team environment and likes to have fun while performing at a high level for
our customers. Primary job responsibilities: -Solve unique and complex
problems with broad impact on the business using SASas advanced statistical
and inferential analysis programs to provide specialized data analysis -
Design, develop and support analytical solutions including interactive data
visualizations, multidimensional data structures, ad hoc query templates,
etc. for the Advanced Analytics Lab and its customers -Conduct data
extraction that may include analyzing, reviewing, trending and presenting
information, based on provided specs, to support or refute hypotheses
leading to the initial identification of heath care fraud & abuse-Organize,
sorts and filters data in order to distinguish patterns and recognize trends
. Assist other in understanding data as they summarize and present complex
patterns of fraud in the form of easily deciphered datasets-Conducting
stakeholder interviews and user testing sessions, creating workflows and
schematics, as well as delivering information architecture and click-through
prototypes-Deliver professional level technical work in support of the
development of company products, tools, platforms and services-Evaluates new
analytics tools and methodologies for possible deployment -Make
recommendations about platform adoption, including database servers,
application servers, libraries, and frameworks-Analyze business drivers and
requirements to evolve the IT solutions architecture. Consult on
infrastructure and application development initiatives to design scalable
solution architectures based on business goals, requirements and IT
strategies-Operates within established methodologies, procedures, and
guidelines -Applies knowledge of principles and techniques to solve
technical problems -Works closely with other functions to understand
customer needs and to develop product roadmaps-Help application developers
to adopt new platforms through documentation, training, and mentoring-
Translates highly complex concepts in ways that can be understood by a
variety of audiences-Influences senior leadership to adopt new ideas,
products, and/or approaches
Qualifications:
Required:
-Bachelors degree (MIS, CIS, Healthcare Informatics, or related degree) or
equivalent relevant experience-2+ years of SAS Stored Processes, Web Report
Studio, Dashboards, OLAP Cubes and/or Enterprise Guide -Data analysis
experience -Experience using SQL against DBMS's (Netezza, Teradata, Oracle,
SQL Server) -Experience working within the System Development Lifecycle (
Requirements, Build, Design, Testing, etc.) -High proficiency in MS Office
(Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, Visio)-Strong quantitative,
problem-solving, and computer skills-Excellent oral and written
communication skills required in order to influence senior leaders
Preferred:
-Experience in Healthcare or Healthcare Insurance-Tableau experience -Prior
experience with Netezza and Teradata-Medicaid and/or Medicare program
knowledge strongly desired
