their estimate of the amount of oil gushing out of a ruptured Gulf of
Mexico oil well as British energy giant BP (BP.L) (BP.N) scrambled to stem
the leak.
The news that the flow rate may be as high 40,000 barrels (1.68 million
gallons/6.36 million liters) per day came after U.S. markets closed.

EPA FINE: $4300 per barrel
2.4M X 4300 = $8.6B
this is small money to BP, BP can now pay it in cash. But,
This money will be paid, may be in full, after 20 years like XOM
for XOM, it was $5b fine at the beginning, but they only paid $500M 20 years
