But my question is about the reason to argue when you have the truth, are
you here because you have the truth and:
1. want to prove the other party is wrong?
2. want to show you are smart/wise/full of knowledge?
3. release something about your personal feelings?
4. want to help with the society?
5. love the people here and feel the compassion for the other party, for
they do not know the truth?
I think this question can go for both parties.
I hope the Christians here are doing it for 5, for that is what the Lord
told us. I personally slipped and tried to lie to myself that I was doing it
for 4, but it turns out to be and became 1,2,3.
As a Christian, if I am not strong enough to love everyone here, I should
not open my mouth to proclaim the truth, because my truth will be tainted by
my personal evil personal desires. If I throw garbage at others, I will be
thrown at with garbage. |

My experience, when you are trying to convince people by proving they are
wrong, they become more stubborn and refuse to agree with what you say,
because they think you want to harm them. Even if they see they are wrong
they refuse to admit it. If you really want to help them, do you point at
their errors to condemn them, or talk about the wonderful truths you believe
in that they would also benefit from?
By doing 1, are you truly proclaiming the truth or are you trying to be
appearing to be good for yourself? I fell into the trap of 1 and found
myself doing things only for myself, and eventually no one, including myself
, felt happier but more miserable.

你說的有點是沒錯的，證明人家錯了不一定人家會承認或改過，
尤其是對自己以為已經掌握真理的人，這只能說是說服的技巧

等意识到自己是3，就不想来这个版了，这个版就是两派人围绕圣经斗气，
非常的不健康

you mean is Christian fundamentalist. But even Christian fundamentalists are
people depending on reasoning and rationality to understand the bible.
It does not make sense to me if the bible means Jesus said only Children can
enter heaven. Maybe you can explain it for me?
