Any citizen of any country at any time in history had been permitted to go
the mansion of the leader and sing his praises. But that is not freedom.
Freedom means being able to criticize the leader, even unfairly, without
being questioned, certainly without being hauled before the magistrates and
sentenced to public service, fined, or incarcerated.
Westerners are rapidly losing the freedom to speak out. Not against our
political leaders, except perhaps in Russia. (Silly me, I already limited
myself to speaking of Western countries!) So we will ignore Mr Putin and
Russia, not quite European, not quite oriental, not quite civilized.
We may still speak out against our political leaders, for now. But we are
being censured when we speak about a Stone Age psychopath, Mohamed, and his
doctrine of evil.
Muslims, until very recently, were proud of Mohamed their lying, looting,
raping, murdering, kiddy-diddling prophet. Now, they don’t like to hear the
truth of this psychopath. And they are blaming us! And getting even more
crazed about it.

Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, the secretary general of the Organization of
Islamic Conference (OIC), the 57-government Muslim body that has been
pushing for years now at the United Nations for restrictions on the freedom
of speech, was in I-told-you-so mode, saying that the violence demonstrated
serious repercussions of abuse of freedom of expression that OIC had
consistently been warning against.
See? Even Muslims know they have no more self control than leopard
devouring a tethered goat.
Iranian newspapers report a religious foundation has upped the bounty on
Salman Rushie to US$3.3 million. A 1989 fatwa issued by Iran's late leader
Ayatollah Khomeini calls for the death of Rushie because his novel The
Satanic Verses is considered blasphemous.
The Iranians are also claiming that Obama can be sued in international court
for blasphemy because Obama signed a UN document to that effect!
Arab News reports that the grand mufti of Saudi Arabia, called on the
international community to criminalize acts of abusing great prophets and
messengers such as Abraham, Moses, Jesus and Muhammad.
Obama, himself, did not counter these outrages with a lecture on free speech
. Instead he called on Google to take the movie Innocence of Muslims off the
net. Incredibly, Google said no. In the past Google has played footsie with
dictators. Apparently, Obama’s gift doesn’t work in America, either!
The latest news is that Pakilanders have posted a 10 million Pakistani rupee
(about US$104,000) bounty on the head of Nakoula Basseley Nakoula, the
maker of Innocence of Muslims.
Listen to Muslims in interviews. All of them as in ALL of them say they are
for free speech but free speech doesn’t mean you can hurt our feelings.
They ask us to be reasonable! The gall of these barbarians!
It is past time for all of us to stand for free speech. When the authorities
come to silence their target of the day we must rise up on our hind legs
are shout, I am Spartacus! |
