but there is one exception if all of the following
are true:
(1) The Canadian citizen is not yet in TN status
(will be seeking TN status upon landing at the U.S.
airport).
(2) The Canadian citizen is coming to the U.S. with
dependents (spouse and/or minor child(ren)).
(3) The dependent(s) is/are not Canadian or Mexican
citizens.
(4) The dependent(s) are staying in the U.S. for the
long term and require TD visa(s) instead of B visa(s).
In this case, the Canadian citizen is required to
apply for a TN visa before or at the same time when
the dependent(s) apply for the TD visa(s).
