但由于地处在Rockville 中心,有一些贫困家庭的学生.
普通学生也可修该校的IB课程. |

parents. That's why the prices of similar houses are quite different in
Montgomery district vs. the Wooten or Churchill district.

You must like Amy Chua's article!:)

I was addressing the previous post about "很适合中国学生", which I don't
think it's true. RM is not that popular among Chinese population. That's it.

j***a 发帖数: 10844 | 10 What does "popular" mean here? Most kids don't even have a choice regardless
if they are Chinese or not. And I know someone who picked up IB over the
other one. It's just a personal preference.
Did I give you a "hat"?
it.

lol
Let's not waste time on each other's post anymore.Thanks.
regardless

j***a 发帖数: 10844 | 12 I think it is. At least a lot more relevant than the house price.
It's a good discussion and I don't think it's a waste of time. On the other
hand, I don't have any problem if you want to stop.

r******2 发帖数: 67 | 13 Well considering getting into IB is like 1:100, the safer bet would be to
purchase a home in Churchill or Wootton area. In this case, even if your
kid doesn't get into the program, the default school is still good. If you
do, it's fairly close to RM, so you don't have to wake up two hours earlier.
However, the Richard Montgomery district has potential. There are a lot of
rebuilding in the area and could really improve the quality of the students
in the next few years.
The school was recently re-built, so it's actually pretty nice. Most, IB
teachers are good, with a couple of exceptions. There's an IB like program
for non-IB students in RM, but I don't think they are in the same classes.
[No, not all Chinese kids get into IB, even if they get straight As. Most
get into Blair though. The Chua strategy completely fails your kids in this
regard because IB seems to look for kids with outside activity / highly
social / high pressure. All kids play music these days, so piano or violin
wouldn't help too much.]
Probably said way too much. Feel free to ignore. |
