Dear Mr. Lee,
My name is xxx. I am writing to express my concerns over the “kill everyone
in China” comments in Jimmy Kimmel's “Kids Table” show on October 16,
2013.
Media plays an important role to shape children's developing opinion. What
kind of a person will a child become if he/she was immersed in an
environment which instills racial hatred and violence? More dangerously,
they think this is a "joke". If an inappropriate joke was repeated one
thousand time, it very likely becomes truth in children’s mind.
I think Jimmy Kimmel has missed a great opportunity to teach the children a
lesson when the senseless remarks were made. Children are innocent, it is
our adults' responsibility to guild them correctly.
We all hope our children and grandchildren to live in a loving and caring
society. This needs our adults' constant effort and action. I think Jimmy
Kimmel, as a grown-up man, should sincerely apologize for his inappropriate
comments and make sure such incidents will not happen again.
I am looking forward to ABC's corrective actions. Thank you.
