Once you are a manager, you'd have to justify your reasoning if you apply
for an engineer job again. Of course, this is not an absolutely rule but a
likely question.
Which looks better depends on the position you are applying to.
The best answer is always the TRUTH. Don't doctor your resume to the extent
that you can't back it up. It's WAY TOO EASY for the interviewer to pick
you apart if you can't back it up with real experience.
