LG强烈建议留芝加哥，原因如下：
１。宝宝还小，他一个人看不了，我刚过去需要时间熟悉环境，不好把宝宝带过去
２。他不能保证在纽约一年内找到比现在高２０％到３０％的工作
３。纽约的工资和这边一样，实际上相当于少PAY了３０％。因为纽约生活费和房子比
这边贵多了
４。奖金４０％太浮，工资是最重要的。
我个人很犹豫，很喜欢第二个公司，里面的人都很LAID BACK，朝九晚五，应该很舒服
。可是确实PAY的不高。

offer比芝加哥的差了不少。但你还要考虑在两个公司里升职加薪以及将来再跳槽的前
景，所以也很难说。另外两个人relocate确实麻烦很多，尤其如果你在芝加哥买了房的
话。我最近也在折腾这个，感到给我家领导制造了很多麻烦，很内疚。

I totally agree with Jazzcat on this.
The living cost of NYC is way higher than that of Chicago. With 110k salary,
you'll have to be a little calculating in daily life in NYC. After the
contribution to 401k, premium for health insurance and tax, you will end up
with probably any number between $4500 - $5000 a month. With this amount of
money, you will have to pay a fortune on renting and transportation. The
amount of how much you pay on these two items is pretty consistent - you
will pay more on either of renting or transportation based on how close you
live to your working place.
I'm not sure if your NYC job has a lot of potential or not. It's really
strange that a team leader role in an IB is offered such a relatively "low"
base salary.
I'm wondering about the nature of this role. Is it credit risk?

I think you should push the NYC offer to a higher level if you are really
that into IB. Otherwise, it won't be worth it.

sounds like a medium number for a role at associate level.
I'm pulling some numbers for your information.
To my knowledge, in NYC, a senior manager in credit card business - one of
the major comsumer lending areas, can have an annual base salary anywhere
from $130k to $200k depending how good he/she is, years of experience and
timing, etc.. Most of them make around $150k for the base.
If IB cannot offer more, why bother to go? Unless you are obsessed with IB
as a whole. Without any finanical support from family, a household has to
have at least $250k to maintain an ok life. True that many people live in
NYC with a less than $50k income. But I believe that you expect more.
On the other hand, people think it hard to jump from the consumer lending to
IB. You made it this time. You will certainly make it again in the future.
When the market picks up, and your baby grows up a little, you can try again.

the second bank, I told them my expectation is 25% increase. Now they are
using that as the excuse, no matter how many times I told them the situation
changes.
