I didn't have the problem of intake manifold. but I have following problems,
which all are very common.
1. two windows and one door were out. >$400 to fix each window dealer, but
not expensive if u fix/change urself. parts take $90
2. oil pan leaks. not a big issue since I don't need to topup oil between
changes. but >$600 to fix.
3. the auto dim side mirror faded to the point that the mirror was useless. $300 to fix by dealers but $30 diy, buy a "redi cuts" at ebay, r | j*********d

can you see more about your power window? one of my Century's power window
is also gone, and i am too lazy to repair it now, but i just find another
one's motor is having strange noise, so i guess maybe soon i have to fix two
...
problems,

old one, paste the new one on, 5 mins work.
problem and >$500 to fix. it is annoying but I can live with it.

take it out, put some grease may put less strain on the motor.

1998, Century, 9*K so far. I got the these problems:
1, power window, like everyone else. Fortunately only one of them, and it is
the rear windown on driver side. So I am not worrying about it.
2, AC. I realized that the compressor was not working. Checked the pressure
and it was too low. After I refilled the system with R134A, the compressor
began to work. However I still could not get cold air. Will try to get it
fixed when the next summer is coming.

1 车右前门电动车窗下降时有较大声音，上升时没有。估计又是buick的通病，因为用那
个窗户比较少，现在还没有管。
2 一次下高速后闻到刺鼻的气味，到家后发现coolant开了。原因则很简单，是radiato
r的pressure cap坏了，花了几块钱在autozone买了一个新的，问题就彻底解决了。

the air filter is encased in hoses which are very very rigid.
