Strong Sell Bias Continues, But Financial Insiders Push Buying Levels Higher
* S&P 500: Bearish Bias
* Russell 2000: Bearish Bias
* Buy Signals: Financial
* Sell Signals: Energy and Healthcare
* Sell Signals: Consumer Discretionary and Technology
(As of 11/24/10) Insiders across the market continue to sell at an
impressive clip, however it's clear that the activity peaked during the week
ended November 9th. We don't think it's a coincidence that the market hit a
two-year high that week, or that the market has come from that high as the
volume of insider selling bordered on obnoxious. Make no mistake, a strong
sell bias still exists, but there has been increased buying for six
consecutive weeks and this past week we witnessed a fairly dramatic reversal
of sentiment in the Financial sector. We expect high levels of selling to
continue throughout the remainder of the year as insiders worry about a
potential increase in capital gains tax rates next year. Following the
Thanksgiving holiday, we'll be looking closely for action in the Retail
industry
