的说说：
Goldfinch by Donna Tartt
当仁不让的第一。很多人觉得节奏慢，比较闷，偏偏这就是我这一口。感情描摹极度细
腻，文笔非常优美，看到最后梦到母亲那一段都忍不住哭了，很长时间没有这样投入地
阅读了。看完接着看了作者的Little Friend和Secret History，相见恨晚。把这三本
书的纸质本都买齐了，极度期待她的下一本小说，但是估计得等很久。豆瓣上很多人说
写得不好，不排除有人的根本英语水平不够。:) 话说每次看到作者的照片就好奇，是
不是蕾丝边啊？怎么书的主角和叙述者都是男孩？
Round House by Louis Erdrich
忘了是去年还是今年看的了，以前没怎么写过。描写印第安人生活的小说搞不好就写成
痛诉革命家史，一本血泪账什么的。这本写得角度独特。一者是从法律上出发，很有东
西让人思考；另一个是也算一本青春成长史，我比较偏爱的题材。情和理结合得很不错。

，Jhumpa Lahiri，印度人，也是女性。
Lahiri的成就和名气都比李翊云要大。她第一本书Interpreter of Maladies也得了李
翊云靠《千年祈愿》得的PEN/Hemingway Award，不过Lahiri后来又靠这本书得了普利
策奖。这样就更牛一些。而且她的第一部长篇The Namesake被好莱坞拍成了电影，是全
国发行，比王颖拍的独立制片的《千年祈愿》影响要大得多。
Lahiri的成名作Interpreter of Maladies我也看过，也很黑暗。有的故事看了之后心
里会很堵。她08年新出的书我没看过，据说更dark。Lahiri的作品题材大多都是在美国
的印度移民，不知道有没有人在Amazon上留言，说她破坏印度人的形象。
大部分文学奖的评委，文学杂志的编辑，报纸上写书评的专栏作家们，当他们看到李翊
云和Lahiri描写的那些阴暗时，不会去想中国人/印度人或者中国/印度怎么这么变态。

，就是太long-winded了一点。
Walter Isaacson "Steve Jobs" 顺手翻完，知道了很多好玩的轶事。
S. C. Gwynne "Empire of the Summer Moon" 对印第安文化一向有点兴趣。
Suzanne Collins "Hunger Games" 三部曲 因为自己的专业看的，不好看
Ian McEwan "Atonement" 看了才觉得比电影还好看，光是一个花瓶就衍生出一大段

Prologue 看得特别有同感。想起刚进医院时的很多事。正好也在做 AML 以及相关的血
癌。很多细节很感动。
最感动的是那句话：Cancer begins and ends with people... Doctors treat
diseases, but they also treat people.
也在经常想：真正有意义的，值得去拼的，是什么？Fame? fortune? 还是那一个个活
生生的人，他们的绝望和希望？
作为一个 career，毕生追逐的，那个 cause，是什么？
经常想起的是一个病人的老公。至今忘不了他在太太被确诊时眼中的恐惧和绝望。病人
的细胞现在还在我的实验室，而人可能已经在面临最后的时刻了吧。一个个的病人编号
，在很多 researcher 的眼中，是轻飘飘的数据和记录，是铺向成功的一块块筑路石。
而那份沉重和责任，那种被人类共同的宿命，那种你我早晚要面对的命运，却经常压得
我战战兢兢。什么名利之心，都去见鬼吧。 |
