Does the another background check drop into a black hole?
USCIS electronic records indicate that after officer review, an element of
the background check process was initiated in your constituent’s permanent
residency case, and it is not yet complete. This is a normal part of the
adjudication review. After this process is complete, the I-485 case may be
sent for an administrative review which will facilitate the return of this
case to an officer for adjudication.
While we are unable to determine the date on which this permanent residency
case will be assigned to an adjudicating officer and when the adjudication
process may be complete, you may submit a follow-up inquiry to the NSC
Congressional Unit after approximately 30-45 days from the date of this e-
