有可能是你这个option很好，稳赚不赔，
比如strike price 非常低，但是股票价格有可能达到很高， 那就赚大了

你说的shares应该指RSU(restricted stock unit).
为了解释得容易些，我们指定一下今天的股价，$10.
如果你选100% RSU:
那么在公司指定的年份里（一般是3-4年），你会分批拿到
$10k/$10=1K RSU, 1千股属于你的股票，按今天的市值，
总值$10k.
如果你选100% stock option，按你说的公司政策，3倍，
也就是给你3000 stock option,分3-4年给。
3-4年之后，如果股价不变，你收获为0.
3-4年之后，如果股价低于$10，你收获为0.
3-4年之后，如果股价高于$10，你收获为差价x3k.
以上简单的假设你一直留着stock option不变现。
比如1年后股票翻到了$100,那么你可以变现1/4~1/3已经到手的
SO，每股赚差价$90.再过两年股票又回$10了，剩下的SO就不值钱了。
大致的意思你明白吧。
总而言之，跟你公司股票将来的变化强相关。
如果你认为公司很有潜力，股票在未来几年会大幅上扬，当然
选100% SO.
如果公司股票在过去的N年都平稳的没啥变化，或者处于严重的
下降阶段，100% RSU.
实在没啥头绪的话，各50%吧。
