daycare 不仅教 academics，而且 academics 是他们的卖点。（人家又不教
才艺啥的）。

2002年毕业生刘菊花硕士学位论文涉嫌抄袭事件。
据不完全统计，包括中央电视台、中央人民广播电台、新华社在内的多家权威媒体报道
了该事件，网络媒体对此事件的转载和传播更是不计其数。不仅如此，《中国日报》对

我的背景简单如下：
1, 6 journal publications, ~15 conference abstracts, 写在一起当成authorship
claim了
2, citation 比较弱，〉20
3, review >30, 7 journals.
4, 6封推荐信，都是独立推荐人，分布比较广，几大洲都有
Claim了老三样， 有一个行业内部的Fellowship， 没敢单独claim,但是放在
contribution里说了，结果还是在noid里被纠出来狠批了，教训阿！！！
两步法，第一步，承认review, authorship, 不承认membership 和 contribution。
第二步（final merits analysis）,所有claim的都不承认，而且一条一条的批得血淋
淋的。

早上学晚上学的学习成绩不是问题，但是伴随的心里问题两个极端都会产生。 有感于
前阵子看到的蟹肉写的现在有的家长流行把孩子晚送上学以获得Leadership等。 科研
不支持。 有需要文中的文献的请说一声，我给发过来。

从社会能力上看，早上晚上到高年级都可能产生问题。晚上的可能吸毒等等。早上的社
交能力，体育能力较差。

洛杉矶地区没有最好的私立高中，只有最合适的私立高中。四所最严格私立高中是
Flintridge Prep, Pasadena Poly, Webb 和 Harvard-Westlake. 有些人可能会说最严
格的就是最好的，但对于大部分学生来说这种说法不对。对于大部分学生来说这种严格
的学校压力过大，每晚五小时的家庭作业 (脑子好使的), 加上周末，从九年级开始就
用大学程度课本。再加上2到3小时的体育训练或者演奏练习，加上社团，公共服务，和
课外活动。在申请大学的时候，大学不会因为你上一所非常难的私立学校，而对你网开
一面，反而在这里更难拿到好成绩。
最好从你所居住的周围开始咨询，因为你不会想要每天开很远的路程。就算是比较不那
么难的学校每晚也有3到4小时的家庭作业。有些学校有非常强的运动计划或者艺术计划
，所以选什么学校完全看你需要什么。不要太看中升学率，因为那主要取决与学生而不
是学校。
很多洛杉矶的天主教学校也收一部分非天主教的学生。天主教学校的费用通常只有私立

ASCO or ASH sessions for fellows. There are nice discussion regarding the
details.
Again, you have to love to do research( either clinical or basic) , and
aspire to become a leader in a subspecialty to consider Academic position.
And also you need to have some connections to get into academia. For example
, your mentor who is a big shot. Within academia, there are subtle

先声明一下,不是show off. 我家孩子,下个月4岁,图书馆借的level 2 or 3的新书,拿
过来就可以自己读.给她试chapter book,磕磕碰碰也能读下来.里头很多不认识的单词,
会自己按照phornics来试图发音.不一定准,但很接近.会写不少单词.有时还自己用英文
编故事,到电脑上用word敲出来.
中文也不错.曾经有段时间教她认中文字,记忆力超好,没多久就可以自己读中文的课文.
已经半年没教中文了,拿过中文书来还能读下来(中文学校的教材).

以前问过，现在还是犹豫不决
报名后天截止，大家出出主意？
第一个，g&t,据说academics不错。
学校本身没有afterschool，在学校附近有不错的afterschool管接送。
g&t班大多白人亚裔，但是整个学校有70%的黑裔西裔。
第二个，progressive,据说不非常重视academics，k没有作业。
比较注重literature, creativity, 课程不是很structured,etc.
家长的involvement非常多（我自己不太喜欢家长太多的involvement）
学校比较diversified, 白人和其他裔各占一半，亚裔比第一个要更多一些
我们儿子有点小聪明，所以觉得g&t比较适合，有人说在第二个容易bored.
但是儿子很shy.很多人说第二个更nurturing, given his shyness.

民第一优先中的第二类。一般来讲，EB-1B杰出教授或研究人员申请的法律要求比EB-1A
杰出人才低一些，但是此类申请要求必须由美国雇主来申请。申请人自己不能提出申请
。而EB-1A 则不需要雇主的支持。
对于杰出教授和研究人员而言，这类申请的基本要求包括：
1. 申请人需要在美国的大学，研究所，或公司中的任职为永久性(Permanent)。 首先，
雇主需要提供永久性职位工作证明，也就是说该职位为终身的，或者是不确定工作具体
结束时间的职位。（Either tenured, tenure-track, or for a term of indefinite
or unlimited duration）。但博士后研究不是永久性工作职位。
2. 必须在本专业领域内至少有三年或以上的相关教学或研究经验。攻读博士学位期间
的研究或教学可以算作申请EB-1B用的工作经验。
3. 雇主可以是大学，研究所，或者私人企业。私人企业则要求公司中至少已经雇佣三
名以上全职研究人员。
