起初他们追杀 Communist 主义者,我没有说话———因为我不是 Communist 主义者;
接着他们追杀犹太人,我没有说话———因为我不是犹太人;
后来他们追杀工会成员,我没有说话———因为我不是工会成员;
此后他们追杀天主教徒,我没有说话———因为我是新教教徒;

How a Soccer Star Is Made
The youth academy of the famed dutch soccer club Ajax is grandiosely called
De Toekomst — The Future. Set down beside a highway in an unprepossessing
district of Amsterdam, it consists of eight well-kept playing fields and a
two-story building that houses locker rooms, classrooms, workout facilities
and offices for coaches and sports scientists. In an airy cafe and bar,
players are served meals and visitors can have a...

Here is his story, in his own words
The Communists had attained their goal, defeating the Saigon regime. As I
prepared to get onto the boat headed for America in 1977, I glanced back at
my homeland, Vietnam, believing it to be for the last time. It had taken me
a long time to save up the seven ounces of gold for currency to pay for my
passage on the boat, but I was now getting ready for the journey, under
cover of darkness. (You were not allowed to leave Vietnam without
permission, and permis...

In the Spring of Forty-seven,
So the story, it is told,
Old John Sutter went to the mill site
Found a piece of shining gold.
Well, he took it to the city
Where the word, like wildfire, spread.
And old John Sutter soon came to wish he'd
Left that stone in the river bed.
For they came like herds of locusts
Every woman, child and man
In their lumbering Conestoga...

We clawed, we chained our hearts in vain
We jumped never asking why
We kissed, I fell under your spell.
A love no one could deny
Don't you ever say I just walked away
I will always want you
I can't live a lie, running for my life
I will always want you
I came in like a wrecking ball
I never hit so hard in love
All I wanted was to break your walls
All you ever did was wreck me
