可能是他们刻意的安排，来的是一男一女两个教授。我自己感觉是比在菜市场(
placement area)面试气氛要轻松不少。不过完全可以理解女生对这样面试会有顾虑，
特别是来的只有男教授的情况。

妈妈爸爸给我寄来很多肉制品零食：有五香肉兔干，泡脚凤爪，鸭屯鸡胗什么的。
但是收到了封 农业畜业牧业局的来信说是有份东西是不允许入关的。被扣留了。貌似
是牛肉干之类的东西，因为上面写的是CATTLE。
所以我是万事大吉了，也不会收到罚款吧？
把违禁的东西扣押，把过关的东西再寄送给你。还是有点人情味的呢！ |

落。买沙发的过程中做了无数研究，现在对皮沙发不说了如指掌，也是非常了解。这个
班上经常有人问怎么买沙发，我就写写我的经验总结吧。
买沙发以前，经常听这里的人说沙发市场的水如何深，走进家具店，皮沙发价格昂贵也
不知道被宰成什么样，所以下决心做足research，谋定而后动。所有的研究主要都是网
上的资料，发现了一个非常好的网站，myfurnitureforum.com。基本上所有的信息都是
从那上面学的。要指出的是，那个网站的owner本身就在Virginia经营一个小型高端家
具店，最后我的沙发也通过他买的。我觉得我从他的网站学到很多，所以应该给他
credit，觉得我是托的话，到这里就可以绕行了。
说沙发市场水很深，其实说深也不深。材料和做工决定了这个沙发多少钱。所以搞清楚
了材料和做工的奥秘，买皮沙发就剩下选自己喜欢的style了。
皮沙发的材料里，最贵的就是皮和frame，其他如垫子，弹簧之类好坏之间差价不是很
大，稍微上点档次的牌子一般不会太在那上面省钱。

些不错的美国家具科普，和大家分享一下。出处请您自行google。（I take no credit
for the text below）。一般实木的家具都是OAK和MAPLE，WALNUT，大概因为这几样
木头稍微贵点，又不是稀有木材，所以大块的拿来作家具还能负担的起，MAHOGNY倒是
贵，也能做家具，不过。。。
PINE太便宜了，很多VENEER的家居本身都是拿PINE做，所以也没人吹嘘IT的家具是实木
PINE的:-)我一直搞不清中文的红木倒底是什么，好像不是REDWOOD，也不是CEDAR：因
为这两样都能订钉子，传说中的红木是很硬的，只能榫接，而且比水沉..
VENEER分真木头的VENEER和印花+压花的塑料VENEER，做的好的印花+压花VENEER，我只
能在和真木板对照时才分的出来，大体真木头暖一点。因为真木头表面也要上一层
CLEAR FINISH PAINT，所以除非你把表面划破，否则是直接摸不到木纹的，而且高级的

Elder people needs a lot of sun exposure to get VD. But Vitmin K2 comes only
from GRASS-FED cattle. So if your beef or pork is fed by grains, it does

Dow Stalls Out at 12,400 Yet Again
Bottom line, Dow cash has trouble breathing above 12,400. I continue to be
short here, looking for a correction own to 12,100 to take some profits, and
then again at 11,800 on a flush lower. Time will tell.
In the grains, I am wary of being long going into Friday's Supply and Demand.
After corn has had a $1.00 rally after last Thurdays's USDA planting number,
