Why I'm Never Going to "Two-Bit" China
I would never go to China, even if someone paid for the trip and all
expenses.
My reason can be explained in one headline: China Arrests US Citizen for '
Endangering National Security'.
An American businesswoman has been formally arrested in China on
suspicion of “endangering national security” just days before Chinese
President Xi Jinping arrives in the US for his first official state visit.
Phan Phan-Gillis, 55, who also uses the name Sandy, disap... 阅读全帖

China Bashing is for Losers
Oct. 21 2010 - 2:17 pm
By SHIKHA DALMIA
China bashing has become a bi-partisan sport this election season. But if
the bashers won’t heed the economic case for not knocking down America’s
second largest trading partner, they ought to consider the political one:
Even if they get into office by peddling false economic theories, in order
to stay there they will have to produce the right results. This
protectionism never has – and never will – deliver.

Most investors know the Federal Reserve's "easy money" policy is creating an
enormous amount of new credit and new money.
And most people know this policy has created an explosion in the prices of
gold and silver.
But most people have no idea where the bulk of the Fed's new money is
actually finding its home: in Asia. This has enormous implications for you
as an investor, which I'll show you in a moment...

说核燃料能用3000年太忽悠了吧
BEIJING — Chinese scientists have mastered the technology for reprocessing
fuel from nuclear power plants, potentially boosting the supplies of carbon-
free electricity to keep the country's economy booming, state television
reported Monday.
The breakthrough will extend by many times the amount of power that can be
generated from China's nuclear plants as fissile and fertile materials are
recovered to be new fuel, CCTV said.
Several European countries, Russia, India and Japan al... 阅读全帖

NEW YORK (Reuters) – Confidential diplomatic cables from the U.S. embassies
in Beijing and Hong Kong lay bare China's growing influence as America's
largest creditor.
As the U.S. Federal Reserve grappled with the aftershocks of financial
crisis, the Chinese, like many others, suffered huge losses from their
investments in American financial firms -- from Lehman Brothers to the
Primary Reserve Fund, the money market fund that broke the buck.
The cables, obtained by WikiLeaks, show that escalating... 阅读全帖

For China’s rise to continue, the country needs to move away from the model
that has served it so well
IN THIS issue we launch a weekly section devoted to China. It is the first
time since we began our detailed coverage of the United States in 1942 that
we have singled out a country in this way. The principal reason is that
China is now an economic superpower and is fast becoming a military force
capable of unsettling America. But our interest in China lies also in its
politics: it is governed b... 阅读全帖

BO’AO, China — The senior leadership of the Chinese government
increasingly views the competition between the United States and China as a
zero-sum game, with China the likely long-range winner if the American
economy and domestic political system continue to stumble, according to an
influential Chinese policy analyst.
