Saratoga学区因为人数少，好象2年级可以转。其它好学区都很难，本身人数太多了。
PA最严，因为改cutoff date的建议最先从PA学区老师提出.那些比较差的学区相对松一点。
现在想想还是顺其自然吧，难不成为早上学搬Saratoga去，那里是天文数字的房价。听
几个有大孩子的朋友讲美国老师比较喜欢班上年龄大一点的孩子。再说谁知道几年后Saratoga会不会和其它好学
区一样。 |

北卡的cut off date是八月三十一号，09年才开始施行，以前是十月十六号。
如果小孩子在四月十六号之前满四岁，又特别gifted的话，家长可以申请提前入学的。

提前上学各个学区的要求可能不一样，我只知道我们这里的。首先要家长向所在辖区的
小学提出申请，然后要做智力测验，要至少98%的percentile，需要daycare的推荐信，
需要portfolio，等等。所以如果有这个想法的话，需要提前做准备。智力测验必须是
当年四月十六号之后考的，而且如果在智力测验前一年之内，如果小孩子曾经做过智力
测验，这个智力测验就不作数了，等于小孩子就没机会了。

发帖数: 105 | 47 用的就是州里的 Prenatal Screening Program，检查包括唐氏症在内的六七种遗传病的可能性，如果风险高的话，可以选择再做CVS或者羊穿来得到更精确的结果。
1。十到十三周之间抽一次血
2。十一到十四周之间做nuchal translucency ultrasound（测量脖子皮厚度）
3。十五到二十周抽第二次血
初步结果在step2的时候被告知：
我的结果是，唐氏症的risk1／600（cutoff 是1／100），trisomy 18的是1／
11000 （cutoff 是1／50）。
最后的结果在step3之后出来：
唐氏症的risk1／10000（cutoff 是1／200），trisomy 18是1／100000（
cutoff 是 1／100）。其它遗传病的risk也比cutoff值低不少，所以我就选择不作
羊穿了。 |

future cutoff date movement in the short term. There are just too many
unknown variables. Perhaps the best indication is the interval we see
between when the NVC sends the fee bill and the individual's priority date.

我说的“很多”是相对而言的，没有EW和CP的数据，要真正搞清楚“大潮前PD但没交I-
485的”恐怕也不容易。好在真正有意义的是cutoff前进速度。
对于EB3C，去年10月初到今年4月初这6个月时间内用掉了70%的quota。同期内（实际上
用的是去年9月到今年3月），cutoff前进了14个月。因此，全年cutoff应该前进14/0.7
=20个月，也就是平均一个月前进1.67个月。
同样对EB3ROW，6个月前进了8个月，平均一个月前进1.33个月。1.67/1.33=125%，所以
EB3C就算多了25%的demand，也无关大局。
当然假设是FY08年的demand和FY07年持平，目前看应该是略有下降，因此速度会比这里
算的快一些。
如果收到的demand超过一个月（不是一年）的quota，实际发卡的cutoff date就会
retrogress的。因为法律规定PD在这个cutoff date之前的都要分到一个visa #，而每
个月能提供的visa #是有定额的。所以放水后的retrogress几乎是一定的。

周五胖主席亲自把车送到哥大，下午拉上robin，whx，小胖和serendip，先去costco买
了两打的bagel，香蕉若干，顺带一起carbo load了一18寸的pizza，最后抗了一西瓜准
备跑完了爽一把。到了camp site七手八脚搭起巨大的帐篷，然后就是点火取暖/烤鸡，
