政府部门要求信息公开 （FOIA), 如果大家都吵着要数据，不知道NIU有没有通过这个
方法试过。因为自己也不知道什么数据有用，希望组织能跟大家说说.

发帖数: 323 | 2 之前在版上发个爆蠢帖，给老妈弄递签直接被退回来要求面签，说是要提供上次延期的
批准。然后找不到了。开始问移民局，说是要填一个问询表+400多刀申请重新获取批准
文件，说是要2-3个月。电话说的也不清楚，于是上网查，发现可以通过FOIA法案获取
相关证明。于是就给FOIA office写了封邮件，填了个索取信息表。
过了一个半月，移民局FOIA办公室就把批准文件的扫描版给我寄过来了。然后用这个给
老妈办了签证。
写信的时候注意，不是要I797,那是批准函，FOIA不能提供的，必须通过移民局重新申
请+400多刀。我写信的时候是说case number以及任何可以用来签证的证据
另外，不保证所有签证官都好说话，遇到刁难的签证官估计会要原件。所以建议有和我
一样脑缺的亲两边同时弄。祝大家的爸妈探亲签证顺利 |

我的情况是最近安排了local office的面试，在准备材料的时候发现自己没有I-140

自己就按照网上的说明submit了一个FOIA的request向USCIS要I-140 notice.
结果今天收到短信说面试取消了，去Infopass问，Infopass的人明确说因为有一个FOIA
，本来已经到office的file居然被寄回NBC，只有等FOIA处理完了才能再安排面试。
算是个教训吧，希望对后来的人有用。 |

目前通过FOIA要ds2019。一般需要多久？
另外可以request advisory opinion without DS2019么，只提供J1 visa的信息？有人
试过么？
有相似经历的朋友可以分享一下经历么？感谢！ |

如果140在这期间被旧公司revoke,还能拿到approval notice copy么？
Port PD的话是在第二次交140的时候用到approval notice就可以了么？

FOIA查不到我的信息很正常，USCIS的name check是另外一回事儿。

可以。 但是foia 发来的是140 申请的表格， 虽然上面有approve 的章子， 随后发信
问了下uscis， 说需要的是i797（approve notice) , 是不是他们发错了. 得到的回
复是说他们15年来 ， 就不保存approve notice 了。 但是律师还是要求approve
notice (i 7897)， 大家有遇到同样的情况的吗 ？谢谢了。 |

我从robert那里要来了08年LIA法律小组对起诉奥本排期捆绑的可行性报告。大家看看

虽然这个报告的意见比较负面，但我们相信长江后浪拍前浪，前浪必死沙滩上。新PD们
