later. Hinsdale also did fine as to the top colleges in chicagoland.
University of Chicago admitted 10 and waitlisted 8 while Northwestern did 28
and 10, respectively.

kids can get into its MMSS program, you won't have to worry about anything.
Recruiters love these graduates and there will be tons of attractive job

Maywood需要天天commute, downtown是teaching, 不需要天天commute。
所以两个人基本都需要开车。现在考虑在西郊买房，预算定在75万以下。

south naperville 挺好的选择。房子新，80万可以买到4500尺10年内新房。单职工去
chicago上班，早晨十二三分钟开车到route59 metro车站，快车从59车站到union
station41分钟。估计你做和金融有关工作。最近半年内好几个认识的做trading的朋友
都搬到south naperville. 204在 naperville内的school都很好，asian kids在学校比
例一般20-35%之间,不会觉得自己race很特殊,而被孤立,蓝领黑墨很少。hinsdale
central high school asian比例高，是因为westmont中印村的缘故，但hinsdale自己
的小学比例一般一个班最多一个asian，有些小孩会有很大交朋友压力,当然这完全取决
于kid本身情况,。 |

发帖数: 36302 | 28 CHICAGO有点类似NYC或是LA，不能和温哥华比，因为是大都市。
这里老美有钱人太多了，几百万几千万的豪宅多得是，而且富人区不是一个两个TOWN，
是十几
二十个TOWN。所以，中国过来一些有钱人根本就显不出。
NPAERVILLE这算是工薪阶层居住区了，大部分是30-70万，但是即使这样也有很多几百
万的豪宅。这才是CHICAGO个一个小城。整个METRO CHICAGO豪宅多得是，根本填不满。
随便湖边的那些大楼里就有无数几百万的CONDO。
国内金主应该不会到NAPERVILLE来住。大多数应该买城里的湖景房或是高级CONDO，或
是LAKECOUNTY的那些豪宅，就是到西郊来，也有HINSDALE/OAKBROOK/BURRRIDGE那样的
富人区。
CHICAGO的房市我个人感觉是还没回到2006年高点。
就像LA，大家吹牛说什么解放区，什么圣博盖谷，但是好莱坞那样的富人区有多少华人
？NYC也是，曼哈顿随便一套CONDO就是几百万几千万，有多少中国富豪来都能吃得下。 |

旅游的第一和第二天，全部在机场或飞机上了。谁叫我想做商务舱有不想花太多的钱，
只能转来转去。ORD的UNITED CLUB 是我见到的最差的，什么都没有，一件小黑屋。反
正至少有网路，4个小时不好打发啊。再次踏上CHICAGO 的土地，上次是离开这里，
全家搬到DALLAS。这里我住了8 年，我在这里结婚，拥有第一个房子。两个孩子都在这
里出生，大的在HINSDALE HOSPITAL,小的在LAKEFOREST HOSPITAL出生。我心里对这个
地方充满了感激，我最灿烂的8年在这座寒冷的风城度过。冬天一家人缩在一间房里打
闹，夏天到处跑玩，后院还有桑椹采摘好甜哦。春秋，CHICAGO漂亮极了，春天，满树

自己家的保险，统一买UI HMO。记得一学期也就是一百多块。春秋季必买。暑假可以不
买。
这期间，没得过什么大病。老婆看过几次妇科，做过US什么的，完全免费。记得那时在
学校药店拿药都几乎免费。
就有一个夏天，我想省点钱，觉得自己没啥病，没买保险。结果偏偏就生了一次病，有
一天我在实验室觉得头重脚轻，天悬地转，恶心，差点晕过去。就赶紧去校医院。结果
医院前台知道我没有保险。不让我看。但是她们知道我是学生后，就让我先去学校保险
办公室去办保险。我去了，虽然学期已经过半，人啥也没说，让我填表，给了张卡。回
到医院，做了检查，说是胃肠型感冒，拿了点药，就回家了。这是学生期间唯一一次和
医院打交道。
老婆先毕业上班了，我们就把保险转到她的公司。还是HMO。BCBS的BLUE ADVANTAGE。
COPAY10块，没有其它花销了。这期间，我们生过一个娃，从第一次看妇科医生签合同
到产后随访，总共花了10块。当然看医院BILL，说是2万多，反正保险出了，就不关心

本版有个ID叫BMX，家住chicago富人区HINSDALE的豪宅。
HISNDALE医院我很熟悉，在那工作过，我的孩子也在那出生的。
我老大出生的时候，住的是双人病房，条件比较简陋。
但是，现在你去那看看，病房是新建的，所有的病人都住很大很宽敞明亮有不错卫生间
的单人房。
我自己的医院，所有的房间门口都写着A/B的字样，可是屋里只有一张床。我刚来很奇
怪。老护士告诉我，8，90年代的时候，病房都是双人间。后来变成了单人病房。
从双人病房变成单人病房，医院的UTILITY成本是不变的，但是容纳的病人数减少了一
半。你说生孩子成本能不增加吗？即使不考虑通货膨胀和其他因素。 |
