Each year I drive across the eastern half of the country twice, including
the states of Ohio and Indiana. Without benefit of signage it would be hard
to tell them apart. Each has an industrial base in the north and a
heartland dedicated largely to agriculture. Each state is 86 percent white
and has a Republican governor. Over the last 25 years, I think I have
stopped at every McDonald's on 1-70 and 1-71, and the service is uniformly
upbeat and amiable along the whole route.

particularly want to commend Donald Trump who I think has given voice to the
frustration of millions of working Americans with a lack of progress in
Washington, D.C.

给家庭的时间就多了，就能让老婆，尤其是丈母娘满意了，生活就美满了。牺牲了自己
，好歹满足了丈母娘。我有点不同想法。
（1）一般认为科研难而教书容易，所以能力强的人去科研型大学，能力差的去教学型
。但是，对中国人而言，很多出国前就是top n学校的聪明人，又在美国一流科研机构
拼搏多年，继续做科研并不难。倒是教书，很多人可能从来没有过经验，连自己适不适
合都不知道。要知道科研能力和教书能力相关性很低，尤其是在“教学型”大学，教的
东西跟前沿科研不沾边的情况下。并且除非天资卓绝，一般人英语绝难达到美国教授的
水平。教书这种事情，语言磕磕巴巴不是不能较，但是事倍功半，完全是以己之短，搏
人之长，还没比就输一半了。
（2）科研是全国以至全世界共通的硬通货。在某个州待腻了，可以换到另外一个州，
甚至如果觉得美国没意思，可以回国。但是教学是本地的。你在california state U教
书评分高，人家new york state U系统的人不见得认你。回国就更不用提了。

既然说了尽量住在boulder的话，个人建议还是只要不打算camping的话，就可以住在
boulder
14er里面，现在quandary是最方便的（pikes不算的话...），沿着co9从breckenridge
往南，快要到hoosier pass的地方，就是它的trail head了。最容易的登山线路大概往
返6.5mile， elevation gain 3000 ft 的样子。现在应该有snowshoes就行了，走路而
已。
