variable analysis. Basically you need to find a reasonable instrumental
variable, it has to be related to your independent variable but not
associated with your outcome. Then you will need to run simultaneous two
equations for the analysis to control for selection bias.
Biostatisticians like to use the propensity score to control for selection
bias, but some health services researches don't believe it. |

analytical instrumentation
material science + analytical instrumentation
biomedical engineering + material science
这天然分成三个阶段，每个阶段我的研究领域有新的扩展（当然，我估计很多人换
institution时候都会开新方向）
我有两种思路，能否请前辈们给点建议，哪种思路更好呢？
思路一： 直接按时间顺序，介绍在三校的工作。讲三个topic，只讲每次到新的学校扩
展出的工作，与前面学校overlap的部分列上但是不讲。
我觉得这样的好处是（1）可以让别人了解你的发展轨迹，讲起来有时空感故事感，切
换起来比较简单（就说随技术发展，领域有新的热点，换到新的学校，扩展领域到新的
核心技术）。（2）可以说把自己的已有专长带入新的group，帮助他们出了一些成果（

I'd like to ask for $200-300 K start-up including instrumentation, 3 year
lab maintenance, and other instrumentation (expensive ones and I have to
use them in another university) usage fees (3 years). Is that reasonable?
What are the general start-up costs for chemistry in a school like this?

instrucments. I thought I was weired for liking period performancesc. But
why do you think they are more dynamic compared to modern instruments. I
thought those instruments have limited frequency range compared to modern
piano and violins...
anyway... if you are already into period performance, then you would
inevitability turn to LP at some point... just a matter of time.. ;-) |

recording instruments then you kinda passed the beginner phase. The sony
mic you are looking at is mostly for documentary purpose or video recording
accessories. You can use it as instrumental mic if you want. To me it just

2个公司坑了，一家台湾公司，一家大陆人的公司，在那家台湾人的公司干了不到半年
