North Dakota to Let Man in Same-Sex Marriage Wed Woman, Too
North Dakota Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem filed a legal opinion last
week confirming that the state does not recognize out-of-state same-sex
marriages, allowing a man married to another man to come to North Dakota and

WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court put a stop to same-sex marriages in
conservative Utah on Monday pending the state's appeal of a federal district
court's order that had legalized the unions.
The high court, acting on a petition sent to Justice Sonia Sotomayor, ruled
that gay marriages cannot continue during the appeals process. The case is
pending before the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals.

Friday in a decision that brings an increasing nationwide shift toward

A majority of Iowans oppose passage of a state constitutional amendment
banning same-sex marriage, a new Des Moines Register Iowa Poll shows.
The poll found that 38 percent favor a legislative initiative to pass a
constitutional amendment, while 56 percent are against. Six percent aren’t
sure.
The findings show little movement on the issue from February 2011, when 40
percent of those surveyed supported passing an amendment, while 54 percent
