1.Hold medium wrench in one hand, Sears wrench preferred for accuracy
of test 'cause other smooth wrenches are too slick for throwin'!
2.With engine runnin', grab hold of the plug end of an ignition cable
with the other hand and hold on tight!

the horn button depressed) on the terminals, the horn
itself went bad.
most cars have two horns: high pitch one and a low pitch one. they
are reasonably priced: about $20 a pair for aftermarket ones
at pretty much any auto shop (I would recommend a brand marketed
by an Italian company - something like FIIA - but made in
east Europe).

A good set of socket wrench/socket is a must, better
have a set of metric wrenches (10mm, 12mm etc) and
a set of standard (7/16 inch, 1/2 incn etc).
don't cheap out on sockets, they are VERY important,
go get a set of craftman or other name brand.
An automotive diagnositic multimeter is a good buy.
I bought one on Ebay brand new for about $30. It
has voltage, ampage, dwell and many other functions.
Then jack stands or ramps, floor jack, deep
sockets, mallet and all standard issues you use

Ignition coil好象是个变压器，分初级线圈(12V battery voltage)和次级线圈。
我猜dwell/tacho测的都是初级线圈。
所谓Dwell，是指：
励磁时间间隔（闭合角） energizing interval（dwell angle）
对点火系统初级进行充电所经历的时间问隔，用曲轴或分电器轴的旋转角度表示。
During this time period, the breaker points remain closed.
e.g.
DWELL=12.4DG OF CYL 1， 指一缸点火闭合角（充电闭合时间）＝12.4度
这是老时代carburator的车用来调点火初级线圈点火前充电需要的时间的，
太小了可能电冲得不够打不起火。
对现在electronic ignition的车，Dwell不可调，基本没什么意义。 |

first I clearify some basic points.
timing means: when to ignite the fuel and air mixture.
ignition is done through applying 15000-20000 high voltage
to the spark plug and generate a spark. hehe.
usually it needs to be done before piston reach TDC, since
fuel needs some time to burn. it is often represented in
degrees (rotation angle for crankshaft) before TDC.
for my car, during idle, the timing should be 15+-2 degree.

谁知道我把日子记错了,递交motion那次忘记去了.第二天再去,说只能重新安排时间.于
是motion递交排到1月27号,今天trial.我对本州的speedy trial不是狠了解.由于上一
次也是我的失误,没能按原有排期,所以我也不指望靠speedy trial的trick了.

one读的code 是P1120，说是
definition:
1) sensoe out of range low condition,
2) ECM detected the TPS inpit below expected voltage
problem cause:
1)open electrical circuit
2) Failed TPS
我不太懂这个，不过看起来好像是sensor的问题，也有可能是边上线路老化了。我记得
灯亮的那几天，我停车的地方有很多落叶，有一些掉到了hood里面去了，会不会是这个
问题？

battery releases Hydrogen when getting charged. When hydrogen sees sparks,
you know what is going to happen. This is mostly for pre-caution, it rarely
happens in real life.
Make sure all the connections are solid, the jump start should be easy. Even
when the jumper battery is not good, the voltage should be enough since the
jumper alternator is running.
I do not think the jump cable could be the problem. |

症状：
1. Check engine light on. 查了查error code，是P1128/P1129, Manifold Absolute
Pressure sensor circuit low/high voltage.
2. 红灯停车或者刚打开发动机然后倒车的时候，引擎很rough，会surge，甚至熄火过
一次（不过马上发动机又自动工作了，也是等红灯的时候）。
3. 上坡的时候加速很慢，明显感觉动力不足。 |

今天早上我找来cable，jump start成功了，然后舍友说，我的电池有些漏液了（我看
见正负极上确实不干净），建议我赶快去换。说实话，我不懂，也没仔细看电池的商品
标识，买的旧车，也不知道这个电池用了多久了。
我也不知道我舍友是不是真的懂行，但是他帮我jump start 也没有按说明顺序上夹子
或者拆夹子，几下就弄好了，我就相信他的，去了walmart换电池
到了walmart，我告诉服务人员，昨天打不燃火了，今天jump start了，我不知道是不
是该换电池，他说给我检查。
我看见检查就是貌似万用表的东西测了一下，打了个单子出来告诉我 bad battery，然
后我就答应换了，最后花销87.
现在回家了我仔细看了电池的检测单子，
voltage:12.64v （标准是不是15呀，那也不低呀）
