Summary
Several postdoctoral positions are available in the laboratory of Dr.
Hyungbae Kwon at the Max Planck Florida Institute.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The project will focus on understanding how learning represented in circuit
and synapse level. We have established cutting-edge two-photon imaging and
multi-color uncaging of neurotransmitters in vitro as well as in vivo and
mouse behavioral training setup in the virtual navigation system. We are
also developing novel techniques that selectively label specific population
of neurons.
Education and/or Experience
The successful candidate should have a Ph.D degree with a strong background
in electrophysiology and/or optogenetics with related mouse genetics and
viruses. Experience with awaken animals is preferred but not required. A
candidate who has a specialty in molecular biology, biochemistry, chemistry,
physics, or engineering is also considered if the technique can be applied
in neural circuit studies. For one position, we are particularly seeking a
molecular biologist who has experience in light- and chemical- dependent
protein engineering.
