Do you win in dummy and play a diamond, or
win in hand and finesse club immediately? |

only when LHO hold DAKQTx which isn't likely.

j*******e 发帖数: 2168 | 5 I wasn't sure which way was better.
I decided to play the club finesse after some thinking. I thought that if East
won, looking at dummy, chances are that he would return a diamond. Then I'd
have better chance to gain a diamond trick. If playing diamonds by myself, I
could very well lose 4 diamonds (such as KT vs. AQxx) so I still need the club
finesse.
And if I play club at 2nd trick, some East would even hold CK...
Indeed this East let my CQ win.
But I think playing diamonds first may give me

hard to choose, for left, chance for PD has HQ will be the same, no matter
what H you play.
Hk ne? why pd deduct, hard to say.
I just smell A is better, now maybe T is better.
someone said, if you can finesse, then why not try it?...:(

c********n 发帖数: 17 | 9 D is more likely 4432 than 5431 so play D is safe enough even if T in West.
However, if West wins D then switches to C, declarer has to make a decision on
how to finesse C anyway. CT would be the choice here.
If West holds D AT and East has D KQxx and C KJx, either play would fail base
don a good defense.
However, i would still play D from dummy at 2nd trick. Even if West wins with
T, as long as West does not switchs to C after 3 rounds of D, South is more
likely to have a D winner, or 4th D thr
