passes assuming you have at least HKx and running minor suit(s) (typical
gambling 3NT hand), you will be really VULNERABLE like "meat on a cutting
board", cuz opps would not let you run away with double.
Don't be surprised if your pd leaves you after 3NT -3 with this 5C/D possible

Alternative is to bid 4NT, but with 7-4 minors it's better to show diamonds
first I think.

发帖数: 17 | 7 i would prefer 4D over 4NT as well. With vul and not knowing strength of LHO
and pd, i would only bid 4NT with at least 5-5 and similar or better high
cards.
Double could mislead pd to think S fit, so could 4H.
Gamble 3NT only when H is Kx or Ax.

game (3NT itself) if you and pd have agreed upon. Out-of-the-box thinker :)

I BID 5D AFTER RHO'S 3H, THEN PD BID 6N, LHO HAS DIAMOND QXXX BEHIND, AND WE
HAVE TO COLLECT 8 TRICKS AND CONCEDE THE REST.
4D seems the best bid. Pd will bid 4N or 5C.
The moral learn this time is that I still cant give up club. Actually, after
4D overcall, there is a clue that i have club fit. I didnt dbl, so denies
spade, i didnt pass, so heart should be short. 5D should show a single suit.

just forget about showing the 4 card side suit.
Most of the time, 7-4 is a ONE suiter hand,
IMHO it's silly to look for a 4-4 fit when holding a 7
card suit.
So an unusual NT overcall is out of the question, even
though it might have worked well here.
5D was exaggerated, you need partner having something to
cover your side loser even you don't worry about trump at all.
6N over 5D is a little bit overbidded but understandable.
