can double with some rather shapely cards like x KQJ xxx AKJxxx
1H.

I felt these mortals hold sacred opinion about supporting, so I don't feel
they had an 8 card trump fit. And it'll be a long shot for my poor hand,
given that pd had 3H, to have game. If so, I felt we should have something
good in S. And after all, giving up -160, or collect 200 while we have 400
is no big disaster. But getting 500 in this situation has some moral values
in the 64 board KO.
So I passed in a flash.

发帖数: 3277 | 7 actually I am never convinced to bid 1S when you hold both majors 4-4,
the key drawback is that it would be impossible to show the shape, which
is extremely important. Even for slam oriented hands, it's still usually
right to bid 1H, cause you still have the option not to play in H
later. However, if you bid 1S, you would usually say good bye to H....
