Thank you for writing regarding the Fairness for High-Skilled ImmigrantsAct.
I appreciate your input on this criticalissue.
Representative Jason Chaffetz (R-UT)introduced the Fairness for High-Skilled
Immigrants Act (H.R. 3012) on September 22, 2011. This billhas been
referred to the House Committee on the Judiciary, where it awaits further
review. If enacted,this bill would amend the Immigration and Nationality Act
by eliminating the cap on the number of employment-basedimmigrant visas and
decreasing the number of other visas, such visas sponsored by resident
family members.Currently similar legislation has not been introduced in the
Senate.
I believe that Congress should continue working to deliver comprehensive
immigration reform. Major religiousdenominations, law enforcement leaders,
the labor movement, business owners, civil rights leaders, economistsand a
majority of Americans agree that our current immigration system is broken.
Immigration reformis vital to getting our economy moving again and is
crucial to farms and businesses across WashingtonState and the country. | c*******l
