去看了faculty housing 和我喜欢的 tennis courts）。后来单独和咖啡的时候竟然跟
我说“i think you have a very good chance”
第二天发了thank you letter.7，8个人有4，5个回了信。
Search chair 说“It was a pleasure to meet you and to show you a little bit
of xxx.
。。。We will be in touch in a few weeks. ”
系主任说：“I thoroughly enjoyed meeting you and attending your excellent
presentation. I am very positively impressed with your depth of knowledge of
xxx.
As we discussed, the final decision will be made by the Dean once all the
relevant information is presented to him. This will take several weeks to
allow for other scheduled activities.”
因为我们专业和当地工业界联系的比较紧密，talk和吃饭的时候一个“industrial
advisor”也都参加了。他回信说“it was indeed a pleasure meeting you….look
forward to seeing you soon! Please, don’t hesitate to ask me any questions
…glad to help“
都一周多了，麻烦大家帮着分析一下。 |

问了面试的一个中国教授说总共有4，5个onsite吧。第几个没好意思问。我是上上个礼
拜五面试的，好像后来没看到系里网站有scheduled seminar.

没有任何消息）：
Hope things are well with you and your family. I just wanted to follow up,
if you had any questions about living in xxx. You mentioned possibly that
your wife may be researching job opportunities. Here’s the link to the xxx
and xxx。 Please let me know if you have any questions.
我不确信这是不是暗示他们要给offer了还是就是我碰上了一个特别nice的人？还有这
种industrial advisor在committee里会有多大的发言权呢？谢谢！

实是苦差事，人家情面难却被抽了壮丁，真的不意味什么，人家也没空过问学校的人事

positive. Typically the department will recommend 1-2 top candidates to the
dean and dean makes the final decision. You are definitely among their top
candidates. Dean/chair will contact you later for the start up package issue
if they select you finally. Good sign and congrats. |

Dual career is always a big problem. What you can wish is only that, they
would not hold back the position due to current national academic budgetary

was on the market, I experienced a wide variety of schools on how they
treated candidates.
