Got this decision from the area/department editor of a flagship informs
journal today. Two referees, one major revisions and one rejection. Are
this kind of decisions common for informs journals? What's my odds for the
second shot? Very confused and nervous as a junior researcher (this is my
job market paper). THANKS A LOT for your help in advance. |

按照以前的major revision的办法走，仍然需要responses to reviewers' comments.
也有的杂志将这个选择当作比major revision还差的editorial decision.

这样journal的审稿时间缩短，拒稿率上升。EIC的成绩大大的。

revision的
这种resubmission 比major的成功率还是更低一些
major之后被rej的也非常多 |

as a new paper after major changes, but didn't say anything about Responses
to referees.

R2 reject (little contribution)
AE kind of neutral
DE indicates paper has good potential but needs major overhaul before
resubmission as a new paper. Do I still need to write resposnes to referees
in this case?

发帖数: 45 | 9 Probably no need for a response letter. But you still need to address points
raised by the reviewers in the new submission. Meanwhile, double check with
editor (1) whether a response letter is needed and (2) whether you should
choose different reviewers.
