visa, you shouldn't leave until you get your AP in hand. But if you have
valid H/L visa stamp, you can return without affecting your 485.
Do you plan to use PP on 140? With PP ($1225), you get a result in 15 days.
Otherwise, 4-6 month is normal on 140, or even more.

。。太谢谢了。。。。另外，如果用了PP，15天后知道结果，然后公司再交485什么的
，从交485到拿到AP，大概要多久呢？谢谢了。。。。。

approved, you both submit your 485's, and you get your AP in hand.
From 485/AP/EAD submission to AP approval, it took me about 2 months. It
could be 1.5 month to 3 months normally. After 3 months, you are entitled to
do service request to expedite it. Or, if you have emergent travel plan,
you can also go to your local USCIS office to apply for an emergency AP. I
think that the emergency AP costs a little, and it has sooner expiration
date. It's often convincing when you have a flight ticket in hand when
applying for this emergency AP, but it's also risky to book a ticket before
your AP approval. It's your call.

我LG公司好像不用PP的，那这样的话四月份交140，是不是要四个月后才能拿到AP？这
种情况我F1 VISA回国会有风险吗?我大概五月份走，七月份回来，应该会在拿到AP之前
就会来，这样可行不？

发帖数: 135 | 6 As up, if you do not pp: wait 4 months till 140 approved, or more if RFE=>
10 days to finish and submit 485 (do PE early even before 140 approved to save time) => wait another 45 days to get AP EAD.
If you pp like I did + 485 later, quicker.
If you pp, get results of 140 within 15 (calendar!) days.
If you pp+140 485 concurrent, quickest! Best luck is get AP to travel within
30 or 45 days. | T*******y

not use PP, then his 140 may take a few months to get a result. You can
travel and come back on your F1 visa. If you don't have a valid visa stamp,
you need to apply for a visa stamp before you come back. There might be a
bit risk if the IO somehow finds out that your LD has filed 140, but anyway,
all visa stamp applications are subject to some risk. I would think that it
is mostly okay.
A marriage that happened before the principal applicant's 485 submission
guarantees the spouse's 485's immigration visa number, so you can submit your own 485
any time after your LD submits his 485, if he can and wants to submit his
485 while you are traveling. You can submit your own 485 even after his
green card is approved.
