Job Summary
The Product Design Engineer serves as the primary technical point of contact
and in-house expert for a wide range of fabricated metal/plastics products
and customer projects. You will work with our customers, R&D team,
production team, and others to lead new product introduction and continual
improvement projects through all aspects of the project life cycle.
This job description reflects management’s assignment of essential
functions; it does not prescribe or restrict other tasks that may be
assigned.
Responsibilities
• Team up with applications engineers, manufacturing engineers,
marketing and customers to define a mechanical design for variety of
wireless electronic products
• Create mechanical design in different products conforming design
cycle and project schedule requirements
• Using Pro/E CAD program to create 3D database and drawings
• Conduct Mechanical Design Review with customer which includes
detail in dimensional tolerance analysis, basic FEA calculation, DFM and
manufacturing assembly flow
• Interfacing with sales, testing laboratories and suppliers for
the development and cost requirements
• Conduct international conference call at evening with both US
customer and manufacturing team back in China
• Travel onsite domestic and internationally for design,
manufacturing or shipment quality assistance
Requirements
• BS in Mechanical engineering with 3+ years of experience in
product design
• Experienced in metal stamping, plastic injection molding, basic
manufacturing techniques and choice of commercially available material
• Experienced in CAD programs; (Pro/E, ANSYS)
• Experienced in MS office tools including MS Project
• Experienced in Six Sigma, PPAP quality processes is a plus
• Good oral and written communications skills - Chinese Mandarin
is a must
• International travel to Asia around 20% of the time
• Ability to work well in a fast paced work environment for
consumer electronic development
