DAXIAs, can you recommend any books for me to read b4 school starts, or
recommend something MUST do b4 school starts.
A little bit nervous about this career change.

here is the last paragraph:
"Before I close this letter, let me impart one more piece of advice. I know
that you will be tempted to try to get a head start on substantive law
study. You should resist the impulse. The first year of law school is
grueling enough as it is. Moreover, such efforts are likely to be confusing
or pointless, or both. You will be much better served by finding time to
simply relax."

1) improve your reading speed and vocabulary. No need to read law-related
books. WSJ, Time, Newsweek, etc are all good ones. Focus a little bit on
political issues.
2) if you REALLY have time and REALLY want to get jump start, listen to PMBR
CDs (just for first semester classes), make an outline yourself by trying
to understand as much as possible. I know American law students who are so
determined that they takes bar preparation classes before law school. They

physically prepared. | m*******i 发帖数: 43 | 6 谢谢大家呀,看来要好好锻炼身体。
从小就是偏理的利害,文科非常糟糕。最近一定要多读。

1) One L, a book by Scott Turow, gives you a basic idea of the life of a
first-year law student.
2) Vault 100 & AMLaw 100/200 lists, to get familiar with the names of the
law firms, if Big Law is your career goal.
3) "Getting to Maybe", or "law School Confidential", gives you some ideas of
the game played by law professors in class or in exam.
With respect to BarBri or PMBR, I don't recommend since first, you won't
understand much; second, memorization is not the key to get good gr | j*******g
3888 | 10 I read Law 101, One L, and Law School Confidential before law school. Knowing what I know now, if I could do it all over again, I wouldn't have done anything before law school started.
Now that I've been out of law school for a while, the only thing I wish I did before law school was to take bar/bri lectures. Unfortunately, I don't think bar/bri offers any prelaw programs. | a***a 发帖数: 204 | 11 i did absolutely nothing, ie, no books, no typing, no exercise, physical or
otherwise
turned out doing nothing was the best prep. I was a science major too.

get burnt out so quickly.
Physical exercise is important. A healthy body is the most important thing
you need.
