legal professionals. In fact, there are too many of them!
Many U.S. trained Ph.D.'s who are U.S. citizens are just as qualified as you
to handle the paperwork you and your LD are doing. To prove that without
your contribution, the U.S. patent system would crash is harder than to
argue with an Examiner regarding an application with ten 102(a) prior art
references.
Employer-sponsered green card application might be an option.
