Polymeric fibres exhibit excellent mechanical properties and are inexpensively
processed but controlling their optical properties is difficult. On the other
hand, dielectric mirrors can manipulate light in high-performance optical
applications but their fabrication is limited and costly. Researchers have now
combined these two systems and fabricated polymeric fibres with exterior
