我其实一直以为他早就过世了。可见我是多么的孤陋寡闻。
麦田守望当时是高中的时候念的，与此同时还有愤怒的葡萄，发条橙，了不起的盖茨比
和夜色温柔。这些算是接触的最早的美国文学，当年正好是性格被压抑的最厉害的时候
，所以被那种明明想为却没勇气或者其他各种各样的借口无法为之的反叛的气质深深吸
引，虽然表面上还是好好学生，每天干干净净的上学做题考试。
我记得不久前在豆瓣上看到一句话，说我们这一代人都是好像装在一个异常坚韧的塑料
袋里，被保护的特别好，缺乏任何的社会认知，却忽然在某一天那个袋子被粗暴的撕扯
开让我们看到全部外面的世界甚至要求我们优雅从容应对类比于天地碰撞一般的巨大冲
击。然后我发现我之前的20几年在学校学的那些抽象的符号完全成了一堆废纸，在强烈
的不安全感空袭之下，只好逃到书里面寻找前进的方向。所以开始重新看很多的书，好
像回到高中时候上语文课的时候偷看变形记，只希望可以片刻跳出井口般狭小的世界呼
吸外面的空气。虽然现在，每看过一本书就会觉得自己更加什么都不懂，有时会更加的
焦躁不安不知所措。但是还是一如既往的看，哪怕什么都学不到，至少让我看 |

还是我和我的一个朋友共同合写了一个短篇的爱情小说，正好名字也叫这个，然后我们
另一个朋友问，你们是不是看过席娟啊，为啥女主角名字，故事发生地点都基本一样，
我们俩才去看的那部。真有意思，完全不一样的故事，结果名字那么像。
诶诶，我那么不“女性化”，就是因为小时候这些故事看少了。我看的最女人的也就是
三毛，还是个成天不着家到处野的妞。

不过这种职业病好像还真的存在，我一个学心理学的朋友就是，我每次跟她抱怨啥她就
会开始跟我分析一二三，其实我就是想找个人附和一下我，偏偏她每次都跟我唱对台，
而且还偏偏她每次分析的都是对的。我都忍不住打她说你到底是我的心理医生还是我朋
友啊，她就反击说帮你分析还不收你钱你就偷着乐吧。还好我们是多年好友，不然非吵
死不可。

Irae 的痕迹。
我觉得理工医农专业的同学，有点文化沉淀还是很必要的吧，尤其是医学这个跟人打交
道的专业。
中文小说我最喜欢《围城》，杨绛的《洗澡》也还不错，中国“知识分子”的形象刻画
得淋漓尽致。 |

本书名和大致感受后，PC 点点头，然后问除了这些人文小说之外，还读不读别的类别
譬如Science fiction or mathematics,我实话实说对这些不感兴趣，PC MS 有些失望
；聊了些别的话题后，居然又追问了我一回，爱不爱读science fiction，我又让他失
望了一回。

science fiction是startrek吧，这个要等eric来科普。
我个人倒是最喜欢mars trilogy三部，尤其是红火星那本，哭得跟啥一样当年。但是别
的也就没看过了。

人性的书，一个一个都写的超好超感人，我常常看完眼泪哗哗的流转身就觉得我就一个
烂人。。。
话说，反正这帖明天就删了，我就接着问一个比较personal的问题。那啥，我之前
crush on的那个我们实验室的小朋友那天看我在看电影（好死不死我看的是舒淇的最好
的时光的第二段，超级伤感浪漫的我就窝在凳子上抱着我的熊看，那啥，我实验室放了
一只可以当枕头的熊。。。），然后过来问我干吗我说看电影，问我看什么电影我说爱
情电影，人家就说how cute，shit我居然红脸，然后人家说要介绍他爸爸最好的某某在
哈佛的朋友给我认识说也许可以帮到我啥的（他老爸是surgeon），我怎么答得我都给
忘了，反正超尴尬啊，丢脸啊丢脸啊丢脸啊。。。怎么办啊怎么办啊我要不要用一下这

电影。
积极向上，对社会人类宇宙都有益的活动哈。 不过你们面试的ethical question超级
多，而且很难，我觉得比step1, CK的都难。。。但我觉得医学院面试更多考察的是你

那就接着问，怎么说啊。
这个，这位小朋友我自从figure out自个对人家有不切实际的crush我就能躲就躲见面
我就尽量绕道走采取不理不睬滴态度(整个过程只有我自己知道这位小朋友以及我周围
的人都不知道我在努力把这个扼杀在摇篮中哼哼)，我其实已经三四个月没跟他说话了
（我估计他以为我有病。。。）不知道为啥最近又开始说话了，ft。不过我那天讲着讲
着自个脸红我觉着还是接着躲吧。我们本来神叨叨地说这个礼拜一块来city的结果他昨

course i just flipped through rather quickly, stopped only when samprus made
comments/ compliments to those famous names in tennis at his time,
including mickel zhang (chuang?). will get back to the book and read more
thoroughly once get some time. being a really good player always in tough
competitions and spotlights definitely is not an easy deal, |

special reason, I don’t particularly pick old classic books to read. So I
guess I should appreciate this post, just to remind me that I need to

发帖数: 722 | 35 不敢回帖，是因为很惭愧的说，来美国这么些年，真正“读”的课外书极其有限，大部
分都是开车或是做家务时候听的AudioBook。现在正读的只有一本算是半专业书“”How
Doctors think, 作者Jerome Groopman是一名哈佛教授，推荐给每一位对内科感兴趣
的朋友。不过半年了，也只读了一半。车里正听的是“”absolute power， 不过一本
畅销书而已，还有Michael Palmer 的一本却怎么也听不进去。
很惭愧，麦田守望曾经打开了却没看下去；了不起的盖茨比是听的磁带，感觉还是很不
错的，记得盖茨比是反叛而且成功了的例子，却活得极其压抑，藏头露尾，最后还名誉
扫地、丢了性命。让人觉得这种反叛还不如不反呢。想来他悲剧的根源在于，他反叛的
目的其实还是想融入上流社会，而不是解放自己的个性，所以只能是小反叛大投降，竟
然是一个类似于宋江的人物。

句话“重新评估一切价值观”，做法呢，也包括重读一些书，那是个漫长的过程。现在
印象深些的有约翰克里斯朵夫、日瓦戈医生、金庸、《爱的艺术》，马斯洛心理学，还
有。。。安徒生童话。

would like the book. thanks for recommending it, there must be a reason
that many people love it. i will put it in my reading list ~~
i've recently decided no book in the bathroom. all my time, other than
nightsleep, is jooked up with computers, my work is computer based, the
study doesn't go anywhere without a computer, even my leisure/break time is
all devoted to online fictions in jj. so i think it is a good time for

也觉得很合宜聪明，可惜我从来就不是这种有急智的类型, 事先也没有在脑海里预设过
这种情境。。。我倒是自始至终没有被问到任何tough questions, 不过正如您所说，
丧失了原本融洽的气氛；后来我听说在同一家面试过的CMG说起这位Chair was looking
for someone with leardership potential in the field, 大概我的这两次negative
answers precluded the consideration for that quality in the PC's mind.
希望将来能吃一堑长一智。

, sometimes it’s true, as in most of Dan Brown’s, but there are authors
who are truly smart and sophisticated in comprehensive design. For instance,
Thomas Haris’s serie “Red Dragon” and “Hannibel” are very coherently
plotted. So does Robin Coke. His precision and accuracy might partially be
due to his medical training, I guess.
Generally Americans are less patient, less meticulous and more fast-food

Maybe I am too out of fasion. Based on my own limited experience, I do think
Pride and Predjudice is a masterpiece by means of sensing human nature,
social wisdom and sense of humor, but Jane Eyre and Withering Height are
just too heavy to me, even though the movie of Jane Eyre is a life time
tough.
How about Virginia Woolf? I started “Mrs Darloway” simply because of the
movie “The Hour”, but never finished. Too heavy as well. I finished “The
Hour”(aud

阿柳也是一看ACTION 就血脉忿张，只是最近太忙，光在医院ACTION了。想当初 lethal
weapon，American Marshal，Ocean series，007，那是赶上就看。还记得《Departed
》出来时候，还专门找来《无间道》复习，看来看去觉得当真是各有千秋，爽啊！。
国剧的武侠也是阿柳的最爱，《笑傲江湖》出来骂声一片的时候，阿柳却是力挺的。前
年回国看到新《倚天》还是兴奋莫名。对了，以前有个电影叫《双旗镇刀客》，现在想
想真是精品，那份粗犷豪迈，当真无出其右。

另几部：盲井(被禁了)，讲保护藏羚羊的"西西..."什么来着？
最近爱上枪了， SHOOTER， SNIPER等成了经常复习的了。别的，俺不敢多说，已经
够恶俗了。

年前在Washington DC 那起SNIPER案，打死多少人啊，多大恐慌阿。我当时在DC 有个
好朋友，真叫我担死了心了，当时都想给她买一个AAA，给她送油，免得她到加油站加
油当活靶子。她说没事儿，我加油的时候就跳健美操，让SNIPER没法瞄准儿。我心说那可不一定，不过SNIPER看呆了忘了瞄准儿倒更可能，没好意思说。可是后来
SNIPER抓了就没下文了，也不知道究竟咋回事儿。想想应该是个好题材。
保护藏羚羊的《可可西里》，好片子---不是同名电视剧吧，那个一般。

say anything about "must read". there are some books that i just randomly
picked from a library shelf, and if i likes the synopsis and the first
chapter, i would read it. so some books i enjoyed are not well known.
there is one novel, i don't even remember the name any more, whose author was
really young and this was her first published book. i liked it very much
and read it twice (still i don't remember the name of the

完……很喜欢里边一个个的小故事，书写的也很流畅，虽然里边涉及的主题对于面试来
说过于沉重复杂，我觉得对了解一些美国医学伦理方面的东西还是有些帮助的，争取这
