不行？汗，chief都开口了，我又不幸接到了电话，早知道关机就好了...胡乱抓了鞋，
回家补觉，准备干活。
话说一年也过去7788，终于不像开始那么忐忑，寻常的情况也都基本能搞定。自打年中
大小考试过后，得知自己排名基本在intern里面一二的位子，整个人就不那么tight了
。日子也慢慢开始能嚼出味道，不像从前满心风雨不安。当好实习医生，无非就靠口语
，知识，技术加为人，现在已经心里有数，知道自己的斤两，知道怎么能派点用场，哪
怕忙的天昏地暗，也能渐渐满足开来。
每个program的work load都不同，听说纽约的最是黑暗，每个实习医的病人数量都是上
限，飙10。这也是university program为什么受欢迎的原因，病人不会太多，种类却不
少，教学质量也高，否则忙都忙不过来，学习更困难了，更不要说搞点research。
很好奇别的program什么安排，这里第一年是四个半月ICU，包括一个半月的纯夜班和不
间断周夜班，加一个月纯病房夜班，其余的病房轮转。现在还是16h上线，明年就有频
繁的24h连班的。有没有别的兄弟姐妹愿意八一八schedule？ | r*****1

My community program IM residency for PGY1:
4 weeks electives, 4 weeks night float, 4 weeks ICU (only Monday to Friday
7am to 7pm), 4 weeks vacation, rest of them are floor rotation.
PGY2:
8 weeks ICU(12 hour shift and off on Saturday), 8 weeks night float, 4 weeks
vacation, 12weeks ambulatory rotation or elective (Can do away elective in
different state or city). rest of them are floor rotation.I did 4 weeks away
elective during my PGY2 year.
PGY3:
4 weeks ICU, 4 weeks night float, 4 weeks floor, 4 weeks vacation.
Rest of them are elective/ambulatory rotation.I did 8 weeks away elective
during my PGY3 year.
PGY2 and PGY3 will need to cover Four 24h Saturday ICU shifts each year.
4 weeks vacation can be taken at once or split it into 2w and 2w vacation.
For floor rotation:
Intern usually have 8-10 pt on daily basis.
We are on call Q3D because only have 3 teams.Intern only do 16 hours shift.
PGY2 or PGY3 does 24hour floor shit on FRiday and Saturday.
As a PGY2 or PGY3, I only see sick pt and VIP pt and help my interns when
they are in their continuity clinic(two afternoon clinics per week for each
intern when they are not on vacation or night shift).
As a PGY2 or PGY3s, we came to hospital at 7:30am and go home at 4:30pm if
not on call and no sick pt that day.
I did not write any discharge summary or initial HP during my PGY2 and PGY3
year. I do not need to write progress note except pt is very sick and I feel
I need to write something.
For ambulatory or elective:
Its like in heaven. Come in at 9am, go home at 5pm or even sooner:-)
The last month of my residency, PGY3 do not need to come to hospital to work
, program signed us up for two IM board review classes in NJ:-)
In a summary, intern year is tough but I still go to Manhattan once every 2-
3 weeks:-)
PGY3 is the lightest schedule I have ever had:-) Hanging out in Manhattan
or Flushing Queens almost every weekend:-)
Enjoy the night life at NYC:-)
