发帖数: 1299 | 5 ACGME 只有unsupervised clinical care 和8小时规定. AP calls usually are for
frozen and autopsy, the resident mainly perform as a tech, so there is no
unsupervised patient care activity. However, CP calls especially blood bank
calls do involve direct patient care. So most programs will let residents
take AP calls not CP calls during the 1st year.
To avoid 8 hours rule, some programs split the calls between 2 residents
during the day, like 1 resident does 8am to 10pm, the other does 10pm to 8am.
Every program has its own way to run, you have to figure that out during the
interviews.
Eventually, all will be the same, either junior takes more calls or senior
take more.
