dictatorships. This has something to do with his childhood experience in
Nazi occupied Hungary. He is also
one of the major force that promotes liberty in the US and against the
occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan. He
spent millions in a campaign against George W Bush's re-election. He was a
student of Karl Popper, and he's
philosophy of "reflexivity" has guided his investments in identifying flaws
in the government financial policies
and exploit them to make his fortune. He openly expressed that his interest
is more in proving the validity of
his philosophy than money. He is one of the most generous philanthropist in
the world.
The Chinese government has always portrayed Soros as some kind of bad guy
because of his role in the Asian
financial crisis. In fact, Soros was merely taking advantage of the very bad
economic policies practiced by
Asian governments. He always warn these governments by identifying the
problems before starting to short
their assets.
