Perry v. Schwarzenegger is not the only federal lawsuit for gay marriage.
Another one, Gill v. Office of Personnel Management, is thought by some
scholars to stand a better chance of success, though it has been
overshadowed by Olson and Boies’s effort. Gill was filed last March, by a
public-interest law firm, Gay & Lesbian Advocates & Defenders (GLAD), in

确实我同意这个案子很risky, 需要一些象楼下那样的well-designed, well-targeted
cases做铺垫. The consequences are undoubtedly catastrophic if we lose. As
the article pointed out: let's hope the "Gill v. Office of Personnel
Management" case will be presented to supreme court before the "Perry -
Olson and Boies" case because it stands a much more reasonable chance and it
'll certainly benefit the Perry case a lot if it wins.
