It really doesn't matter, and it is completely up to you. No "expert" can
tell you which is better for you. That is
for you to find out for yourself. Even if you get some advice here, you
wouldn't appreciate it until you've been
doing it consistently for a while.

If you have not been active for a while,
start with cycling is a better bet, since
you don't know whether your ankles and knees
can handle the impact caused by running.
Once you build up your base, you still
want to pick up running since the impact loading
is good for bone density, especially for
middle-aged women. (i know you are not)

in a reasonable time.
Like I biked 24 miles last night after dinner
in 1h40min. I could only run 11 miles within
that time frame.

我这次回去好几个人问我有没有100斤,汗阿,我一直都120斤啊。

Swimming is a full body workout.
Anyway, the problem I have with swimming
is that I crave for more food after staying in
the cold water for too long.

my swimming hardly works out anything...except for techniques.

much more significant than cycling, or running. That is why technical is
crucial
I personally believe cycling is the best way to lose weigh due to its low
impact nature even though running potentially can burn more calories
within the same time frame
Riding bicycle to climb steep mountain freeway is the best

Yeah, usually people go to the pool
for a cool down and relax, not for workout.
At least that's the case for the swimming pool
in my neighbourhood.
Cycling is reserved for people who cannot run.
My office has many cyclists who used to be runners.

我刚开始的时候用椭圆机,除了小腿有点酸,基本没什么impact。
俺跑的时候感觉不是拖鞋就成了。你要是只想减重的话,每次运动
长点,K掉足够卡路里就成了,前提是同时管住自己的嘴,我觉得
这个比坚持锻炼还难。:(
