标志就左转了，被一个摩托警察迎面看到，我进了学校他也跟进来，在停车场给了我罚
单。
我想Contested Hearing.

听我同学说，他好几个罚单，他都Contested Hearing 然后dismiss,就因为开罚单的警
察都没有到庭。。
而且最坏的结果就是照交罚款，留记录吧？

发帖数: 18644 | 4 你同学是在西雅图的么？ 反正至少在东边，警察是不需要到庭的，跟某些州不一样。
你可以申请defer，交钱，不留记录。

发帖数: 3876 | 6 When a traffic ticket is a criminal offense, you can possibly be arrested
and go to jail for speeding violation; however it also means that the
accuser must prove beyond a reasonable doubt that you committed the offense,
and you will have your constitutional right to face accuser in a criminal
court, and if the police doesn't show up, your case would be dismissed.
When a ticket is an infraction, you are punished under a civil code and
trialed in a civil court, the police just have to prove its case by a
preponderance of the evidence, and you don't have the right to face your
accuser.
For the state of Washington, traffic violations have been decriminalized a
long time ago, so even if the cop doesn't show up you would still lose the
case. If it's a small ticket, I would suggest you just pay the fine because
it's not worth the trouble getting a lawyer; if it's a big ticket or have
major negative impact on your driving record or insurance, get a lawyer. | n***a

我是在VANCOUVER。主要是西雅图版的人气旺一些才发到这里。
因为考虑到可能会涨保险，加之会留记录，我才想博一下，希望警察不到庭，也许我的
CASE会被DISMISS？
罚单是$124，但是如果我想DEFER，要交150刀。而且我同学说他好几个罚单，他用
CONTESTED HEARTING，警察没有到庭，就都DISMISS了。
可能VANCOUVER和西雅图也不一样的政策？
真是郁闷死了。。
