Naturally I did not know Vietnam exported petroleum. But the value of export
for the first seven months is little, just $6.8 billion. (China exported
hundreds of billion.) Besides, in the same period, Vietnam imported &7.8
billion petroleum products. See

value, not only out there in Spratly Islands 南沙, but in Senkaku Islands
and gas fields in East China Sea.
If China is willing to station there, there may be some protests, but on hte
other hand, maybe that may scare off pirates--therefore good for the world.
