NL 100, your expect yourself to have a 3bb/100hand overall, which is already
very solid. Understanding the nature of the game, we won't blindly adjust
it up when we have a hot month like 9bb/100 hand.
In terms of how to deal with downswings, I posted in another forum as
following:
"下风期其实就是机会. 虽然我常说不要result oriented, 但在poker里谈何容易, 赢
钱的时候是不可能象输钱时那样怀疑自己的打法的.这里就是你reevaluate 你game 的
机会, fix leaks. 这里还有一个很关键的是要坚持自己正确的打法,不要over adjust,
把正确打法改变了.. 那在downswing 过后你就会发现, 你变成了一个更好的牌手..."
This kind of post normally does not attract a lot of interest from people, but i think it is a key to long term success in poker. | f*****g
发帖数: 15860 | 4 in fact, downswing is actually just a bigger explosion of leaks+bad read/
play+bad luck all together.
when we run hot, a lot of leaks got "covered" well, you make 5 small routine
leaking plays and lose 1 buy-in "only" without even notice, then your AA "
naturally" bust AK and KK, even better, your 55 set wins a huge pot in 4 way
vs. AA/KK/AK, or your nut flush hits well on river vs. flopped top set...
all of a sudden, you're 7 buy-ins up in a row or 6 up for the whole session.
or even on a "lame" day, only half of these "good plays" happen, you still
finish like 2 buy-ins up...
money makes us happy and "confident", but keeps up away from reviewing why
the hell we make that 1 buy-in leak EVERYDAY, e.g., why do we always face a
similarly tough decision on the river in a big pot?
when bad times come, we blame on bad luck and why EV cheats on us. we feel
frustrated and stay away or, to the other extreme, play more C game... we
may "come back" with our old playing style and feel better or "normal",
while leaks are still leaks, and new plays are still far away.
as said before, losing actually makes myself calm down, sounds funny but it'
s true. admitting "i suck" is a great chance to open our eyes.

发帖数: 7793 | 5 不要过分自信，也不要妄自菲薄。。。Neither is good for us. how else would you know what you are doing right or wrong? Obviously not everything we do are right, but not everything we do are wrong either. bottom line is to try not to be result
oriented. Be more objective when looking at a hand, and think about EV more
over long term against a pool of players. | f*****g
