有信仰与无信仰家族200年对比，让你大吃一惊!
大家都相信，信仰和爱对一个人来说是非常重要的，特别是对人的身心健康，对一
个家庭的和睦。但到底有多重要?很多人可能却不清楚。
两个家族200年后的统计：
两个同时代的家族，一家是信基督教的爱德华兹。另一家是著名无神论的宗师马克
·尤克斯。
并且，无神论的马克·尤克斯对爱德华兹曾说过：“你信的那位耶稣，我永远不会
信”!
有人统计了爱德华兹家族200年后的情况，也统计了马克·尤克斯家族200年后的情
况，详细统计结果如下:
(一)爱德华兹家族
人口数：1394人，其中有： 100位大学教授，14位大学校长，70位律师，30位法官
，60位医生，60位作家，300位牧师、神学家，3位议员，一位副总统。
(二)马克.尤克斯家族
人口总数：903人，其中有： 310位流氓，130位坐牢13年以上，7位杀人犯，100位
酒徒，60位小偷，190位妓女，20名商人，其中有10名是在监狱学会经商的。

美国学者A.E.Winship在1900年做了一项研究，比较两个家族，写成《Jukes-
Edwards》一书。他追踪他们近两百年以来的繁衍发展。

1.个性和共性的区别。用两个个体来做对比则只能对这两个个体下定论，得不到共性的
结论，比如某个宗教对人类整体都有好处或者坏处。以个性来给共性下结论的，不管说
得如何认真，都是小品文
2. 标题偷换概念。整片文章对比的是一个基督徒和一个非基督徒的各自家族，文章标
题模糊的提信仰，有偷换概念的意思。多神论可以是信仰，无神论也可以是信仰。用基
督教信仰来代替“信仰”不是偷换概念，就是自大。所以如此而言，文中两个人都是有
信仰的人，一个是基督教信仰，一个是无神论信仰
3.不成因果。这就不用多说了，弄两个人的后代子嗣的命运受多方影响，凭什么就应为
祖先信不信基督教？

County poorhouse. It turns out that many family members were neither
criminals nor misfits, and that quite a few were even prominent members of

Max the first of Jukes:
He would not go to school, because he did not like it. He would not stay in
evenings, for he did not like that. ... He would not work for he did not
like it. ...he left home early and took to the woods. ... He went simply to
get away from good people, to get where he would not have to work, and where
he would not be preached to, and this beautiful spot became a notorious
cradle of crime.
Mr Jonathan Edwards:
- the grandfather of Jonathan, was an eminently prosperous merchant.
- The father of Jonathan, Timothy Edward: Harvard was America's only college
, and it was a great event for a young man to go from Hartford to Harvard,
but this Timothy Edwards did, and he took all attainable honors, graduating
in 1661, taking the degrees of A.B. and A.M. the same day, "an uncommon mark
of respect paid extraordinary proficiency in learning."
- Jonathan Edwards himself: He began the study of Latin at six and at twelve
had a good preparation for college in Latin, Greek, and Hebrew, all of
which had come from home study. He entered Yale college at twelve years of
age.
Contrast of the two families:
- Jukes always mingled blood of their own quality in their descendants, and
the Edwards family has not in 150 years degenerated through marriage.
- None of the Jukes had the equivalent of a common school education, while
there are few of the Edwards family that have not had more than that.
So an illiterate lazy hooligan's descendents fared worth than those of a
child prodigy from a wealthy family. Is that news? How can you tell religion
is the deciding factor?
By the way, Max could not read, let alone write, and he never wandered far
from his haunt. What kind of "无神论的宗师" is that?

祖上是信基督的，但更远的祖宗也是不信基督的；Max Jukes的祖上很有可能是不信基
督的；但我推测在某一代是可用宗教信仰来作为分水岭的。但这两位200年内的后代情
况是可以作为那个研究的对比数据。
我感觉这个是社会科学研究的一大特色，和理科生的思维有很大差异，但我不认为这就
不是一种合理的研究方法。在实际中即使是搞理工的人也不会遵循绝对“客观”的研究
方式。
"无神论的宗师"可能是写读后感的人的演绎或讽刺。
