发帖数: 819 | 1 Less than 24 hours after nyc triathlon, I’ve already feel 90% recovered, so
I decided to run to work as usual. The run felt so easy and it became a
tempo run after 1 mile warm up. I can’t help comparing the intensity of
triathlon races to running races.
Here is an approximate intensity comparison, at least to me:
sprint = swim + 10k
olympic = swim + half marathon
half iron = swim + marathon
iron = swim + 50 miler
double iron = swim + 100 miler
So for a serious marathon runner, if she knows how to swim, with a proper
tri bike and half of the training time on it, 70.3 should be an easy task,
at least to finish.
But somehow triathlon gives people an impression that it’s a tough sport. I
would say WTC did a very good marketing job. They picked themselves a fancy
name to start with: Ironman. Come on, in the running world, only Dean
Karnazes would be shameless enough to call himself something like that. Ok,
maybe that’s too mean to Dean. But you get the idea.
The nature of the triathlon makes it a huge profitable market which
naturally transfers to wider media coverage. Look at those ridiculously
priced bikes. Come on, it’s just a big toy on two wheels. But I bet a large
amount of people are attracted to the sports exactly for those expensive
bikes. I think some guys enjoy buying those expensive toys, just like the
ladies enjoy buying LV bags, which, btw, I think is humanity’s biggest
insult to aesthetics. I sincerely feel sorry for those riding fancy tri
bikes at 15mph on a downhill during nyc triathlon yesterday.
Going back to running, what do we ask for? Literally nothing, any clothing,
any shoes (or no shoe at all), any time on any terrain! Muscle milk and
whatever fancy drink? Those are prepared for sissys. Give us some water and
we are ready to go for a 20 miler.
Swimming is a great sport. I think that’s a sport natural to human beings
only second to running. Our ancestors survived on hunting and fishing,
right? |

easily just with water...
but a 20 miler swim is one of my target in the near future.

triathlon sounds a little more fancy than running although I of course
considered myself a runner. You just inspired me to try a triathlon as soon
as possible.
A person who finished Ironman would be called "Ironman".
However, a person who finished 100 miler would probably be called "Crazy,
Insane, or Are You OK man" instead of "superman, ultraman..."

have to complete 5 of the LT100 mtb & trail run events:
This unique category was started in 2003 and requires racers to enter into
five of the Leadville Trail 100 events: Leadville Marathon, Silver Rush 50-
Mile Mountain Bike Race OR Trail Run, Leadville Trail 100 Mountain Bike Race
, LT100 10K, and the Leadville Trail 100-Mile Run.

肌肉男和脂肪女好比一个秤砣， 一块泡沫在水上游， 应该是
女的占优势了。。。另外在长时间海里， 脂肪还有保暖作用。。。
看看海豹啊， 鲸鱼啊的体型。。。
